Children's Ministry
Children's Church Grace Foothills offers Children's Church for 3 years old-5th grade during the worship service (they are dismiised right before the sermon). There is also a Nursery for infants-2 years old (the Nursery opens at 10:15 am). The Children's Church and Nursery are located at 27 South Trade St, just four doors down from The Tryon Theater (where the worship service is held). The Children's Church is a time of gospel centered teaching by a team of volunteers and also a time of play in our state of the art facility. Core Values & Beliefs Resources for Parents "Heart to Heart Parenting", Article by Co-Pastor Dave Desforge Shepherd Press, A Site of Resources for Families Grace Foothills Child Protection Policy Policy: Grace Foothills will conform to local, state and national laws regarding the protection of children/youth and report to government authorities as required by law. North Carolina law requires that any person or institution that has cause to suspect that any juvenile is abused or neglected shall report the case of that juvenile to the director of the Department of Social Services in the county where the juvenile resides or is found. Procedures for making required reports are found in Appendix 1. Church members guilty of child abuse will also be subject to church discipline following procedures of the Scripture and the PCA Book of Church Order. Grace Foothills will adopt prudent measures to prevent child abuse of children when participating in church programs through screening, training, supervision and reporting. 1. Screening 2. Training 3. Supervision a. Parents are welcome to observe any activity with their children. b. No volunteer, teacher or worker will violate a child’s constitutional rights. A child has the right to remain silent and to call his/her parent if questioned about an offense. A child will not be searched against his/her will. c. Grace Foothills volunteers, teachers or workers will not practice corporal punishment. Physical force will not be used except in self-defense. Workers will work in teams in all discipline problems. d. All overnight activities that are off-site will require a signed permission statement from parents or guardian of the children participating. 4.
