Core Values & Beliefs
• Children are a gift from God and should be handled with love
and care. (Ps.
127:3-5, Luke
17:2)
• Children are sinners with hearts bent toward evil and in
need of Christ their savior. (Gen.
8:21, Psalm
51:5)
• Children from an early age can understand deep biblical truth.
(II
Tim 3:15, Ps
78:1-8)
• Children are to be included in corporate worship, benefiting
from the nurturing care, Godly example and faithful mentoring by
members of the body of Christ. (Deut.
31:12, 13)
• Parents, by God’s command, have the primary responsibility
for teaching and modeling God’s truth to their children. (Deut.
6:7 and 11:18-21)
• We endeavor to assist and encourage parents in their role of spiritually mentoring their children.
Purpose of Children’s Ministry at Grace Community Church
We are committed to coming along side parents to assist them in
laying a spiritual foundation in the lives of their children. We
believe that God and parents, not churches, have the primary responsibility
for the spiritual nurture of their children. All children's ministry
classes or other activities are meant to help parents in this awesome
task. We strongly encourage parental involvement in the classroom
and would like to assist them in their 'adventure' of parenting.
Our curricula are Bible-based and our goal is teaching that is intential,
loving, age-appropriate and most importantly, Christ-centered.
Purpose and focus of Children’s Ministry at Grace
To develop a comprehensive program that will provide our children the opportunity and ability to:
• Experience God in worship and fellowship
• Enable them to increase in their knowledge and understanding of God (gospel-centered discipleship)
• Encourage them to accept Christ as Savior and to grow in grace and faith
• Equip them to use their spiritual gifts for the benefit of the body of Christ (relational community)
• Encourage them to live and share the gospel as an everyday part of life
