Just a film challenge
This a NOT a "Christian" film challenge. It's simply...a film challenge. We invite you to submit art that that reflects beauty, truth, and goodness from ALL walks of life. Whether religious or irreligious, artistic expression is simply an attempt to take the invisible and make it visible. To creatively offer new and/or different perspective. This challenge is an opportunity for filmmakers to reflect on a particular theme / question that impacts all humanity and then artistically express a response.
Themes & Questions
We are NOT looking for the "right" perspective or answer to the selected theme and questions. Just short, excellent films that wrestle with a commom theme that echoes through all humanity. Rather than jousting through social media, this event is an opportunity to challenge one another by creating films in response to the following theme / questions.
- Theme: Compassion for an "enemy"
- Questions: What does it look like? Why offer it? What about justice?
Each entry must be less than 8 minutes and must attempt to answer the selected theme / questions. Content should fit within a basic PG-13 rating (no nudity or overtly sexual content, limited profanity and violence). Limit 1 entry per filmmaker. Entry fee is $10 per film with ALL proceeds to support local Asheville charities (TBD). Submissions to begin January 5th, 2015 and end August 9th, 2015. Limited to first 100 entries. To enter the film challenge, upload your entry to a standard video sharing site (Vimeo, YouTube, etc...) then click on the link below to officially register.

As mentioned, we are not looking for the "right" content but simply whether the selected theme / questions were sufficiently addressed in the film and of course the overall quality of the piece.
